About Sleep Breathing Guide
Sleep Breathing Guide is an independent educational resource dedicated to helping people better understand sleep, breathing, sleep apnea, PAP therapy, and the products and technologies used to support healthier sleep.
Our goal is to translate complex sleep and respiratory medicine into clear, practical information that patients, families, and caregivers can understand and use when discussing their care with healthcare professionals.
Our Approach
Content on the Sleep Breathing Guide is developed with an emphasis on medical evidence, established clinical guidelines, reputable scientific literature, and practical experience in pulmonary and sleep medicine.
We aim to distinguish established medical evidence from emerging research, personal experience, and commercial product information.
Medical Review and Editorial Standards
Health information can change as new evidence becomes available. Articles are therefore reviewed and updated when appropriate. Where possible, we support important medical claims with authoritative guidelines, peer-reviewed literature, or recognized medical organizations.
Sleep Breathing Guide does not replace individualized evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional.
Independence and Transparency
Some pages may contain affiliate links. If a reader purchases a product through one of these links, Sleep Breathing Guide may receive a commission at no additional cost to the reader.
Affiliate relationships do not determine our medical conclusions or recommendations. Our objective is to evaluate products according to their features, evidence, suitability, limitations, safety considerations, and potential value to readers.

Why Sleep Breathing Guide Exists
Sleep medicine can be surprisingly difficult for patients to navigate. Terms such as AHI, RDI, APAP, CPAP, BiPAP, central apnea, mask leak, oxygen desaturation, and sleep efficiency can quickly become confusing.
The Sleep Breathing Guide was created to make this information easier to understand.
The site’s mission is to provide practical, evidence-informed education about sleep and breathing while helping readers make better-informed decisions about sleep testing, PAP therapy, masks, accessories, monitoring technology, and other sleep-related products.
Medical Expertise & Editorial Approach
The goal is not to replace the reader’s physician. It is to help readers better understand their health, interpret the information they receive, and understand the questions they should be asking.
Sleep Breathing Guide provides evidence-based educational information about sleep medicine, sleep-disordered breathing, PAP therapy, respiratory health, and sleep-related technology.
We develop our content with attention to established medical literature, professional society guidelines, peer-reviewed research, and current standards of clinical practice. Our goal is to translate complex sleep and respiratory medicine into clear, practical information that patients, families, caregivers, and interested readers can understand.
Medical information is reviewed for accuracy, relevance, and appropriate clinical context. As evidence, technology, and professional recommendations evolve, content may be reviewed and updated to reflect newer information and guidance.
Sleep Breathing Guide is an educational resource. Its content does not constitute individualized medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment and should not replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.
